About

Business Blessings was started by Wes Leake back in 2006 in order to support and equip those in business.

Wes is an accountant by background and has worked in by for profit and not-for-profit companies. He focus now is on education and connecting others to help them become who God called them to be.

Having grown up in a Christian home with parents who were in business.  He has witnessed first hand the struggles that business owners go through in starting and growing their businesses.  The ups and downs of the economy, government legislation and regulations, staffing and how they all have a significant impact on one’s business.

In 2000 Wes helped established the Australian office of Crown Financial Ministries and was involved in teaching people biblical financial principles for both personal and business focus. As part of that he ran a series of Business by the Book seminars based on Larry Burkett’s work.  At the time getting people to attend these was like pulling hens teeth as the connection between faith and business at the time was not as strong as it is now.  Yet as I look at those businesses who went through business by the book and have observed them over the last 20 years, they have grown and developed well.  Of course they have gone through ups and downs, but their trust and focus on God has sustained them through that time.

After finishing with Crown, God made it clear to start focusing on business owners specifically.  “What God? Focus on the most difficult area I worked in the last 5 years?” Of course the answer was yes.  The first focus was the developing of intercessors around businesses, that then changed the focus to helping business owners hear the voice of God for themselves.

The team also learned about the other spiritual aspects that can hinder the growth of Christian businesses. These include healing the land and threshold covenants. But most of all that God has a plan and purpose for your business and can expose what is not of him. Of course, there is also the fact that sometimes God’s plan is also to close doors and open new ones for you.

There has been a lot of learnings over the years. In a lot of ways it boils down to slowing down and listening to what is on God’s heart and do that, rather than telling God what we want him to do.

Wes is married to Pam and they have four children, Johanna, Bethany, Samuel and Elijah! He attends New Hope Brisbane Church.
